Chili Bowl 2008
Friday
Photos from our camera, cell phone or were e-mailed to me
Our LOK Enterprises Chili Bowl crew (l to r) DOK, LOK, Kelly, Bobby, and Justin. Not pictured Darrell, who was helping Travis Berryhill, and Vicky & Sandy who were in the stands ready to watch Jason's 1st midget run. Jason was getting into his driver's suit.
The #8j CanDo/Fontana sits ready for Friday night action.
Thomas & Heather came by to visit and wish us well. Here they pose with Sandy & Vicky next to the 8J.
More visiting as we all wait for the nights events to begin.
We were all there waiting...well we weren't sure where Jason was, but after this things picked up as we were in a rock-n-roll mode the rest of the night.
This is Bob...how can I help you. Even when you're away from work, work always seem to find you. I believe after this phone call Bobby's phone suddenly quit working.
I think Kelly's waiting for that driver to show up...she sure has a grip on that jack handle doesn't she.
Here's a nice shot of Jason Standing next to the car on Tuesday morning before practice. As you can see in the photo below things can happen.
From Kevin Eckert's Open Wheel Times Column

In the first midget race of his life, Jason Holt was upside-down. In his second midget race, Holt won a last chance. His ride was a Fontana fielded by Don O'Keefe, who made first midget start since Watsonville 2002. Daron Clayton's brother-in-law Justin Kinser crewed on the sky blue Linda O'Keefe (LOK) Enterprises entries lettered In Memory of Travis Bickel, an Oklahoma City native who became a road racing technician for Chip Ganassi. Travis was a victim of cardiac arrest in August. His father Mike was a 100-inch supermod racer who once (1987) allowed me into his home at 7am to send a Speedway Scene column through his phone as Travis readied for high school.

Jason recovered to win the last chance race, run the qualifier and then finish 9th in the 2nd B main on Friday which put us on the front row of the 2nd E main Saturday night.
